Sprinklers save High Street chain

A fire sprinkler system maintained by Thameside Fire for the last 20 years has helped prevent a serious fire at a major High Street shop in Tooting.

The fire broke out within a recycling bin in the stores loading bay area. One Conventional Standard response fire sprinkler head helped contain the fire to the recycling bins without any further spread.

Our engineer was on site within one hour after the fire, replaced the conventional sprinkler head and recommissioned the system to operational readiness. The store was fully sprinkler protected again only a few hours after the fire broke out.

Sprinklers not only minimise fire damage and can save lives, but they allow businesses to get back to normal quickly.

Once again, London Fire Brigade have urged all companies and business owners to install sprinklers:

“In this case the sprinklers successfully contained and extinguished the fire."
