25-year sprinkler head testing

As part of the LPC Rules for Automatic Sprinkler Installations 2015, which have incorporated the standards set out in BS EN 12845, LPC TB203.3.9 to TB203.3.9.3 stipulate a comprehensive inspection of pipework and sprinkler heads within a fire sprinkler system once it reaches its 25th year of operation.


This assessment is crucial for ensuring the system's continued reliability and effectiveness in fire suppression, as outlined by these industry regulations.


These past 2 weeks we have been up in Scotland at various sites carrying out such tests for our customers.


We provided a detailed remediation plan for any identified issues, guaranteeing optimal performance and full compliance.


Below is a report from one of those sites and a good example of the importance of 25 year testing. Of the 20 samples 14 failed the functional test (test 2.c)
